Wood Street Mission

By Chancellor

As regular readers of our Newsletter will know, Chancellor’s team is always keen to ‘do its bit’ for the local community.   As well as being corporate supporters of Bolton’s Octagon Theatre which has charitable status, we are also patrons of Bolton Lads & Girls Club.

We were recently contacted by Debbie Worthington, who is a Relationship Director at Santander Business to highlight their initiative to support the Wood Street Mission.  The Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families living on low incomes in Manchester and Salford. It began in Manchester 150 years ago and helps thousands of children and their families every year and all their services are free for families to access.  The Mission’s Smart Start project helps families meet some costs of going to school, as they can order new non-branded uniform items that their children need in time for returning to, or starting, school in September.

Even though members of the Chancellor team only had a short time period to get involved, we were delighted to provide the charity with seventy-nine items of clothing including T, polo and long sleeved shirts, dresses, trousers and sportswear.  For more information about the Smart Start initiative of Wood Street Mission, please click the following link www.woodstreetmission.org.uk/our-work/smartstart-school-uniform/

Hopefully, next year we will have a little more time to prepare and donate even more items to the charity!
