Wanderers Walk for Forget Me Not: Huddersfield to Bolton
Wanderers Walk for Forget Me Not: Huddersfield to Bolton (35 Miles!)
Story:
With the majority of our clients based in and around Bolton, Sam and Matt, with their sister, Summer have decided to embark on a challenging but rewarding journey – a 35-mile walk from our hometown of Huddersfield to our place of work, Bolton! Why? To raise vital funds for the incredible Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
This amazing charity provides essential care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families. We believe every child deserves a chance to experience life’s joys, and with your help, we can make a difference.
The Challenge:
On Friday, September 13th, we’ll kick off (pun intended!) at John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield, aiming to reach Bolton Wanderers’ home – the Toughsheet Community Stadium – by 3pm on Saturday, September 14th. That’s a cool 35 miles we’ll be conquering, proving that sometimes, walking really is faster than crawling through rush hour on the M60.
Day 1: We’ll conquer 25 miles, stopping in Bury for a well-deserved rest.
Day 2: Match Day! We’ll lace up our boots for the final 10 miles (and be hopefully reaching the game before half-time!).
Why Walk?
We’re walking for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. Your generous sponsorship will directly impact families facing unimaginable challenges. Forget Me Not offers support whenever, wherever, and however it’s needed – from expert nursing care to memory-making activities and bereavement counselling.
