Put Foot Rally 2017

By Chancellor

Chancellor’s Sam Farnell and his team the “Lost Terriers” are about to set off on an epic journey through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Malawi.  The Put Foot Rally has 400 teams taking part, with Sam being just one of five from the UK.  The teams will travel through 5 countries, on unmade roads and dirt tracks to their final destination of Malawi.

Each team is responsible for their own vehicles and route, facing challenges head on and embracing different cultures and traditions. Pre-determined check points are located at the heart of each incredibly unique country enabling the teams to take in the spectacular scenery and animal’s native to South Africa.

As well allowing the teams the experience of participating in an off the continent rally to some of the worlds most deprived countries, it is also a fundraising initiative for local hospice “Forget Me Not” and the “Put Foot Foundation”.  Put Foot identifies underprivileged children at schools along the route who will be given brand new shoes.  This is the first year that specially developed, innovative shoes will be given “the shoes that grow”.

On Sunday 18th June, Sam will be leaving Cape Town on the 5000 mile journey in a cloud of dust hoping to arrive in Malawi on Thursday 6th July.  Follow Sam on his adventure at www.lostterriers.wordpress.com or on Facebook
