Walk4Denis: A family’s 25-mile stroll for a legend
On Saturday 20 September 2025, brothers and Chancellor colleagues, Matt and Sam, along with their sister Summer, will be undertaking their second charity walk.
Following last year’s successful walk from Huddersfield to Bolton, which raised an incredible £1,693 for the Forget Me Not Hospice, they are back with a new challenge.
This year, the trio will be walking from the Etihad Stadium in Manchester to the Accu Stadium in Huddersfield. This event, named Walk4Denis, is dedicated to raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of the legendary footballer, Denis Law.
The challenge
The route covers approximately 25 miles and is a tough physical challenge.
The trio’s journey will begin at approximately 4.30 am to ensure they arrive at the Huddersfield Town Stadium by 3 pm, just in time for the Huddersfield Town v Burton Albion match!
In honour of Denis Law
The Walk4Denis is a tribute to the life and legacy of Denis Law, who sadly passed away in January 2025 following his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease.
Law was a beloved figure who played for three of the clubs connected by this journey: Manchester City, Manchester United, and Huddersfield Town. This walk serves as a powerful symbol of his lasting impact on the sport and the community.
Supporting a vital cause
All funds raised from this event will be donated directly to the Alzheimer’s Society. This charity provides essential support to individuals and families affected by dementia and is a leader in crucial research efforts.
The trio’s aim is to honour Denis Law’s memory by contributing to the fight against this devastating disease.
