Grant Farnell

Director & Chartered Financial Planner

Qualifications

The professional

Grant is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, a Chartered Financial Planner and Director of Chancellor Financial Management. His journey in financial services began in 1989; he previously held senior positions within major insurance companies, before becoming a Director of a European banking group. In 2006 he established Chancellor, and the rest is history!

Grant works predominantly with owner-managed businesses or clients that have run their own business in the past. His specialist areas include small self-administered schemes (SSAS), trust arrangements, IHT planning and pensions. Heā€™s also a qualified pension transfer specialist.

The personal

Grant has been married to Dawn for 30 years and has four children: Sam, who also works within the business, Jack, a graphic designer, and Matt and Summer, who are still at school. When not at work (which heā€™ll admit isnā€™t often ā€“ he loves what he does!), you can often find him and the family watching Huddersfield Town FC as season ticket holders. Grant also keeps Japanese Koi and enjoys tending to his pond when he gets the chance.

Important stuff

All individuals providing regulated financial advice must be authorised and registered by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). They must also hold an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing, issued by an FCA appointed accredited body such as the CII.
